You will see that our department has won several awards and that we offer a variety of degrees, endorsements*, and certificates. In addtion to our curriculum, some specific things to note are the Avatar Lab and the Universal Design for Learning Lab (UDLab).

The AVATAR Lab: Uses mixed reality to help pre-service and in-service teachers practice the art of teaching to general ed, SPED, and ESOL students. The avatars will have read the lesson or scenario in advance so they can interact with the leader of the session in real time. We can change the behaviors of the students based on what is needed and can simulate parent/teacher and teacher/principal dynamics as well as IEP meetings. We offer face to face and virtual sessions. https://avatarlab.kennesaw.edu

The UDLab: An assistive technology lab that centers on helping pre-service and in-service teachers connect the equipment to the concept of universal design. We have an extensive array of technology (furnished and updated by our GaTech colleagues at Tools for Life). This is currently only offered face to face but we will open it for virtual sessions beginning in Spring 2021. https://udlab.kennesaw.edu/index.php

KSU currently offers three endorsements: Gifted, Autism, and ESOL but we are writing the content for our new endoresment: Dyslexia. This will not be available until Fall 2022.
