Rockdale school among top Title I schools 2022-23
Georgia Department of Education logoConyers, Ga. –  Lorraine Elementary School in Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) has been named to the Georgia Department of Education 2022-2023 Reward Schools list, an honor given to top-performing Title I schools. Reward Schools designation recognizes Title I schools making the most significant improvements.
 
“This designation affirms that the teachers, students, support staff and families of Lorraine Elementary School have been focused on excellence and continuous improvement,” said RCPS Superintendent Dr. Terry Oatts. “We are proud of their hard work and their exemplary status as a Georgia Reward School."

“Congratulations to all the Lorraine Elementary School staff and students,” said RCPS Board Chairwoman Pam Brown. “We are excited to have Lorraine leading our efforts of post-pandemic academic improvements.”
 
Reward Schools are among the greatest-improving 5% of Title I Schoolwide and Title I Targeted Assistance schools when comparing the content mastery scores from the most recent two years of statewide assessments.
 
Schools must be Title I to be eligible for the Distinguished School and Reward School designations and must not currently be Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) support-identified schools.
